WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROOFREADING AND EDITING?
————————————————————-
Editing and proofreading are often used to mean the same thing, but they are different processes.
Editing requires me to look at the overall structure and argument of your writing and edit it to improve the quality and readability.
The main things I check for when editing are:
Have you answered the question?
Do your introduction and conclusion match what you said you’d do?
Do you have one precise topic for each paragraph? Do your paragraphs follow each other and build to support your conclusion?
Proofreading focuses on correcting surface errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar and referencing.
Both processes may be needed for your piece of writing, so please consider if you'd like me to proofread, edit, or proofread and edit your work.

For CVs, I charge £15.
For all other works requiring proofreading, I charge £35 per 1,000 words read (spelling, punctuation, and grammar checked), or a flat fee can be negotiated. If you need your work proofread and edited I charge £45 per 1,000 words.
I also edit PowerPoint presentations and can convert audio into a transcript.
